Welcome to the Long County Assessors Office Web Site!
Our office is open to the public from 8am until 5pm, Monday through Friday.
The goal of the Long County Assessors Office is to provide the people of Long County with a web site that is
easy to use. You can search our site for a wealth of information on any property in Long County.
IMPORTANT
It has been several years since Long County last conducted a comprehensive review of all the properties.
(residential properties, commercial properties, industrial properties, and agricultural properties.) GMASS
has been hired to assist the staff with the property reappraisals. Property owners may notice a contractor
or a member of the Long County Tax Assessors Office inspecting their property, starting October 16, 2024
and concluding in the year of 2025, as a part of a comprehensive review of all of the county’s properties.
This revaluation of properties is to ensure that all properties in Long County are assessed at fair market
value. Appraisers will walk around each property conducting a visual inspection to include grading,
measuring, and photographing structures. The inspections will not take place inside homes and the
appraisers’ cars will be clearly marked. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact
the Assessor’s office at (912) 545-9111 to speak with Beverly Johnson, Tara Boatright, or Barbara
Widincamp.
The information contained herein reflects the values established in the "most current published" tax digest.
*Please note that the Assessors Office establishes values only. The Long County Tax Commissioner should be
contacted with tax bill related questions.

Did you know?
Long County was created in 1920 from parts of Liberty County. Georgia's 157th county was named for Dr.
Crawford W. Long, the Georgian responsible for introducing anesthesia to modern medical practice. The county
seat, and sole incorporated municipality, is Ludowici. Ludowici was named to honor a German immigrant,
William Ludowici, who contributed substantially to the construction of the county high school.
