COMMERCIAL APPRAISER ORLEANS PARISH ASSESSOR’S OFFICEis accepting applications for a full time Commercial Appraiser. This position requires: Participation in the collection, analysis and review of data obtained from operations of commercial properties located throughout Orleans Parish. Must be able to research and gather market data for the relevant property type and develop income models. Requires field visits to commercial properties (condition, new construction, sales, priority re-checks, etc.). Must have ability to consult with attorney(s) and/or property owners/agents. Make field investigations, studies, and appraisals of commercial properties. Must explain valuation methods, data and logic to property owners regarding valuation issues and answer questions regarding commercial LAT forms. Working knowledge of CAMA system preferred. Must be able to use building sketching software. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration. Related field and a professional designation such as (Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor or General Appraisal Certification), State Certified Real Estate Appraiser (license is required) may be substituted for educational requirements. Experience:Three (3) years of commercial property appraisal experience, accounting, finance or real estate background preferred. Must have experience with the use of a personal computer using Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and be able to accurately read maps, plats and architectural plans. Requirements:Comprehensive knowledge of commercial mass appraisal methods, procedures and techniques and must demonstrate ability to deal with the general public, and effectively present oral and written information. Position requires use of personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license with proof of liability insurance not lessthan $100,000-$300,000-$100,000. Successfully complete a driving and criminal background investigation. Must have effective communication skills. Compensation: Thesalary range is $41,400 to $62,800 based on experience with a monthly car allowance. Excellent benefits (Life, Medical, & Dental) and paid vacation.
