I was raised in Madison County, I attended Eastern Kentucky University, and since 2009 I have had the honor and privilege of serving the community as the Madison County PVA.  The purpose of the Madison County Property Valuation office is to assess all property at the fair market value for the purpose of taxation.  We are required by law to revalue property every year (KRS 132.690) and physically inspect property at least once every four years. We’ve been going through some big transitions over the last couple of years.  We are updating our software and transferring our paper records to computer files.  In addition, we have created this website to provide information to the public.  Our field deputies are spending a lot of time in the field taking new digital pictures, measuring improvements, and gathering characteristics.  They will always knock on your door to let you know they are there, but it is policy that our deputies never enter a home – even when invited.  The purpose of field inspections is to gather information, such as square footage, that will help determine a fair market valuation of your property.
