Duties of the PVA
The PVA Office is a State Office being County elected. The PVA is responsible for appraising all property (real and personal) within the county at 100% Fair Cash Value. Fair Cash Value is defined as the price that a peice of property will bring at a voluntary sale between a willing buyer and willing seller.
The PVA Office does not set the tax rates, nor do they collect property taxes. Tax rates are set by your local taxing jurisdictions along with the State. The property taxes are paid to the Local Sheriff's Office.
