The Jones County Tax Assessor’s Office has the first ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant website in the State of Georgia which will provide the citizens of Jones County with a website that is user friendly and contains the most current and relevant information of properties and taxpayer programs. 

****** We learned on April 12, 2024 that unintentionally some 2024 values were posted on the map section of our public website by our vendor Qpublic. Please disregard those values because they were not finalized and came from a still working file. Your 2024 values will be mailed to you on May 15, 2024.******

Mission Statement: Our office strives every day to be fair and equitable to the taxpayers of Jones County while providing excellent customer service to all that need our assistance as well as the most accurate assessment values possible. Property Values reflects the “most current published” tax digest. The Assessor’s Office establishes Tax Assessment values only. The Jones County Tax Commissioner’s Office should be contacted at 478-986-6538 with tax bill and motor vehicle related questions.

Jones County, the 30th county formed in Georgia, was created in 1807. Originally part of Baldwin County, it was named for James Jones, an early Georgia Congressman and a member of the State Constitutional Convention of 1798.

As the Director/Chief Appraiser (Appraiser IV, AAS, GCA) with some 24+ years of experience in the Tax Assessment field and appointed by the Board of Tax Assessors in December 2016. The  town of Gray was created in 1905.

Jones County is the home of legendary blues singer Otis Redding who resided at the “Big O” ranch and recently in September 2017 had the Otis Redding Memorial Bridge dedicated in his name. The Otis Redding Memorial Bridge joins the Otis Redding Memorial Marker, which is located at the corner of Highway 11 and Highway 129, in downtown Gray, Ga. near -The Station.
