Welcome to Franklin County,
Florida’s forgotten coast!

I would like to take a minute to wish each of you a blessed new year and to remind you of the exemption application process that is in effect now.

If you have purchased a new property or have built on an existing property, you may need to contact my office to check on your qualifications for the homestead exemption credit.
My office is open in Apalachicola Monday thru Firday from 8:30 to 4:30 and in Carrabelle on Thursdays from 9:00 to 4:00.

All applications must be made in person with the following proof of residency with you. Florida Drivers Licenses with your current address on them,
if you are a registered voter, it must be where you are claiming primary residency, one local utility bill, date of birth, and Social Security numbers.

All of the requirements are for both you and your spouse if married. Florida has numerous exemptions available as listed below.
Also, if you own a business, you should be filing a Tangible Personal Property Return on your business.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Sincerely,
Rhonda Millender Skipper, CFA
